Need a recipe for a nightcap?

Take one part Michael Gurley from dada on guitar and lead vocals, one part John Gilmore on piano, one part Jeffrey Brown on drums, and on part Ruben Ramos on bass.  Shake...don't stir!  Ahhhhhhh...now that's what you call a nightcap.



Michael Gurley - Guitar and Lead Vocals



Michael Gurley's musical talents have been featured in many successful rock bands including dada and Butterfly Jones.  In his more than 30-year career as a singer, guitarist, song writer, and producer, Michael has published over 200 songs and has sold over 1,000,000 records.  His extensive resume includes composing the theme song for Disney's "American Dragon: Jake Long", and his music can be heard in many motion pictures including "The Brady Bunch Movie."  He and John Gilmore, long-time friends, have been performing together for over 15 years.



John Gilmore - Piano and Vocals



For many years John Gilmore was the resident pianist at the Tam O'Shanter Inn of Glendale.  John is an extremely versatile musician, and he has toured the country accompanying numerous Broadway performers in their cabaret and concert venues.  As a composer and arranger, his work has been featured in many motion pictures and television programs including "Cold Case" on CBS and "Identity" now playing on NBC.



Jeffrey Brown - Drums



Jeffrey Brown has performed as a Blue Man in Blue Man Group for 11 years.  He opened the Las Vegas production, and he performed in the Megastar Arena Tour and in several other Blue Man Group shows throughout the country.  In addition to the Nightcaps, Jeffrey plays in "Elvis Prestello - Elvis Costello music with an Elvis Presley flair" and "Uberschall - A four-drum extravaganza featuring Tim 'Herb' Alexander of Primus."  Jeffrey is also a working actor who appears in several television shows and commercials.  He most recently guest-starred in "Private Practice" on ABC and "True Blood" on HBO.



Ruben Ramos - Bass



Ruben Ramos began playing music as a child and learned several instrument including guitar, bass, and tuba.  He studied with jazz musician Ashley Alexander at Mt. San Antonio College where he earned an AA degree in music.  He continued to study music at Cal State University Los Angeles with former Los Angeles Philharmonic director John Sciavo and jazz band director Jeff Benedict.  Ruben has now been performing for more than 20 years.  In that time he has composed music for film and television and has traveled all over the world with rock bands, musical theater groups, and chamber orchestras.
